Cambridge Jones and Johnny Powers worldwide.

Cambridge Jones, of UK and Greece, in a recent phone call from his Greece residence in a conversation with his partner Johnny Powers. JP is convalescing after hip and knee surgery at his Black Creek Farms Summer Residence.

Cambridge Jones, who introduced Manuel Martinez Cuevas (Manuel of Nashville) who has dressed, in rhinestones and embroidered roses, such greats including the country stars George Jones, Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson, Keith Urban and through Johnny Powers, is part of the creative collective known as The Muse Collective, founded and headed up by Johnny Powers. The Nashville-based Couture King Manuel reach extends beyond country music. He put the tongue on the Rolling Stones, and the Skulls and Roses on the Grateful Dead. He put Elvis in a jumpsuit. He has dressed Bob Dylan and John Lennon as well as movie stars Marlon Brando, Robert Duval, Burt Renyolds, John Travolta and Billy Bob Thornton. Other celebrities he’s dressed are Ronald Reagan, Salvadore Dali, Linda Ronstadt, Aerosmith and the Bee Gees. Manuel was born more than 70 years ago in Coalcoman, Mexico, as the fifth of twelve children, to Esperenza and Jose Guadaloupe Cuevas, a cattle merchant. Manuel started sewing at age 7. Manuel got a Psychology Degree from the University of Guadalajara, training he finds useful in confronting some of the super-sized egos he has to deal with. Manuel, and after graduating, moved to Los Angeles, eventually outfitting stars like Frank Sinatra. From 1960, he worked for Hollywood designers making costumes for Roy Rogers, The Lone Ranger and others. Manuel moved from California with his Cowboy Couture business to Nashville in 1989 where he’s been since. Johnny Powers is working with his friend Manuel to take the Manuel brand of American Cowboy Couture worldwide.
